Summary ~ Teachers ~ Curriculum ~ Daily Routines
A Nurturing Start
Our Infant Program is centered around three core areas of daily life: eating, sleeping, and diapering. In Montessori, these routines are meaningful opportunities to build relationships, foster independence, and show respect for each infant as a capable and growing individual. Our classroom, often called a Nido (“nest”), is a peaceful, carefully prepared space where infants feel safe and supported.
Respectful Feeding
Feeding is approached with intention and care. Infants are supported in developing independence through self-feeding as they are ready, while always honoring each family’s preferences. Whether bottle-fed or fed by a parent, these moments are unhurried and focused on connection, trust, and responsiveness.
Peaceful Sleep
Sleep routines follow each child’s natural rhythm. Infants rest in a calm environment that supports movement and independence, while teachers gently guide them toward settling peacefully with individualized care and attention.
Care with Respect
Diapering is a time for connection and communication. Teachers move slowly, speak to the child, and involve them in the process, showing respect for their body and encouraging early cooperation and independence.
