Summary ~ Teachers ~ Curriculum ~ Daily Schedule
In addition to individualized monthly learning plans, our teachers thoughtfully develop a themed curriculum to enrich each child’s experience. These themes may explore topics such as music, the human body, dinosaurs, or the solar system.
While themes add excitement and variety, the foundation of our classroom is rooted in core Montessori learning areas. These include sensorial, practical life, language, math, science, geography, history, art, and culture.
Below is an overview of each area of learning.
PRACTICAL LIFE
Children develop everyday skills such as pouring, cleaning, and setting the table. These activities build independence, coordination, and confidence—important foundations for success in school and in life
SENSORIAL
The sensorial area helps children refine their senses through hands-on exploration. These experiences support observation, reasoning, and decision-making, helping children understand the world around them.
LANGUAGE
Language is woven throughout the Montessori classroom. Through conversation and hands-on materials like sandpaper letters, children build strong connections between sounds, symbols, and words, supporting early reading and writing.
MATH
Montessori math materials make abstract concepts concrete. Through hands-on learning, children develop a clear understanding of numbers and mathematical relationships at their own pace.
CULTURAL
The cultural area includes science, geography, history, and art. Children explore the world through hands-on activities, caring for plants and animals, and creative expression, building curiosity and a love of learning.
